About GLITA

GLITA is an indie singer-songwriter whose music captures the raw, unfiltered emotions of a world that feels both heavy and brimming with possibility. Her sound blends dark, atmospheric tones with the intimate strum of her acoustic guitar, fusing elements of indie, alternative, and pop. As a new artist to the public but a singer-songwriter since childhood, her music stands at the crossroads of youthful disillusionment and hard-won wisdom, reflecting the complexities of navigating life with a mix of vulnerability, introspection, and quiet strength.

GLITA’s songs explore the tension between idealism and the harsh realities of life. Her lyrics dive deep into themes of personal struggle, empathy, and the search for meaning, acknowledging the pain of injustice while holding onto a fierce resolve to move forward. With a voice that intertwines haunting vulnerability and quiet determination, GLITA offers a cathartic release for those grappling with the messiness of life.

I am not known for being the most patient person in the world, so I am really antsy to get my next song released. I learned a lot during and after the process of releasing Gray Days, so I am trying to make some adjustments based on what I learned and practice my patience. However, if anyone is anxiously anticipating the next song release by GLITA, I can assure you that there are multiple songs currently in the recording phase, and they are coming soon!

More specifically, GLITA’s next song will be released

How to Support Your Favorite Aspiring Music Artists (And why it matters)

Every time you stream your favorite artist’s songs, you’re supporting them. This is a great first step to supporting your favorite aspiring music artists. However, supporting your favorite musicians goes beyond streaming their music. To create a longer term impact that can help them grow in a really difficult industry, along with streaming their music, there are tons of other ways you can support your favorite indie artists, with many being super simple.

Upcoming New Song by GLITA for album “Gray Days”- not yet released

It is hard to sit down and write a regular blog post with everything going on right now. The world feels like it is falling apart. It is hard to have enough endurance to keep up with all of it and still try to make a difference. Burnout is real. Frustration is real. Feeling completely alone is real. However, in times like this, I find it especially easy to write a song. For me, fight, frustration, helplessness, and perseverance all get poured into a song rather than festering inside. Music isn’t just a…

Songwriting: How to Write a Song

Songwriting can come about in many different ways. You can start with the lyrics, the melody, the instrumentals, the hook, whatever. Everyone has their own creative process and finding yours is what matters.

My Songwriting Process

For me, I find that inspiration hits at different and sometimes random moments. It is thus important that I write down or record the ideas the moment they hit. If I don’t, I will forget them and this will drive me crazy. I also find it helpful to not worry about perfection. When…

Songwriting: The Evolution of My Sound: experimental music

I’ve been writing music for as long as I can remember. I wrote my first song at the age of 7. Though my musical style and sound has evolved since then, it has always been a blend of moody mainstream with a twinge of experimental. When I was younger, however, I didn’t showcase the experimental side as much as I was a little hesitant about putting myself out there like that and not being accepted. Now though, as music becomes more and more generic and I don’t have the doubts and self-consciousness I did as a…

4 Days Post Release Update and What I Learned: "Gray Days" by GLITA

On January 31, 2025, I released my first song to Spotify- “Gray Days.” As a new to the public artist with no following, limited funds, a full-time job outside of music, and the production quality of a home artist who is still learning how to produce, I had tempered expectations. Even so, I wanted to give this release a full go as I believe in the potential of this song. It may not be perfect, but what is? I didn’t want this song and all its potential to sit isolated in a folder forever, so I picked a date,…

Who Will Listen to My Music?

Releasing a New Song with No Followers or Fans

Putting music out there and into the world as a brand new artist can be intimidating especially if you have no known fans and no followers. Spotify apparently receives 60,000 new song uploads daily and some sources even say that Spotify received over 100,000 a day in 2024. Though these daily uploads aren’t competition as there is room for everyone and everyone’s style and sound varies, this is still just a big number to get lost in.

Though I may not be trying to…

Song Spotlight: A Few All Time Angsty Favorites

When deciding on music to listen to, I find it really enjoyable to go back to some of my all time favorites. Below I provided a list of some of the songs that have loyally frequented my music rotation for at least the last decade. Let's call this list my "all time angsty favorites”.

I'm So Sick by Flyleaf

The introduction of this song gets me every time. Aside from it being flawlessly attention grabbing it also highlights the singer's raw talent. I tried over and over to mimic a sound like she can make but…

Songwriting: A Glimpse into the Lyrical Process— Gray Days by GLITA

For me, writing song lyrics comes about in different ways. Sometimes, I aim to write a song and other times I try to accomplish something else and end up writing a song. Often, lyrics come out of trying to cope or process something uncomfortable. Gray Days came out of a combination of emotionally taxing situations that left me feeling unrightly judged and unfairly treated.

At a younger point in my life, the kinds of situations that inspired the lyrics of Gray Days may have left me weak, exposed, and…
